Tiger maple, standing bright

tiger wood and yellow posie
A three-legged bouquet holder, bringing two birthday presents in one.

Three offcuts of tiger maple, also known as Fiddle back maple, trimmed to the same size for this little side table. The edges rounded over, then some sanding and polyurethane to bring out the ripple. This is one of several local varieties of maple that makes woodworking such fun here in BC. These are indeed, so I have now been told, offcuts of guitar backs for local luthiers.
