Stairs are a good way to develop woodworking skills. Spiral staircases are a special case, as they involve not only many steps, but curved supports too. The example here has inner and outer supports laminated from very thin maple strips that I sanded to about 0.1 mm thick.
Using my microlathe, I turned a walnut newel post to frame the entry of the stairs and 12 dogwood supports to hold up the handrail, to make sure that the mini people can walk up and down in safety.
