Space is big, big projects take a long time, and this was a big project. Hence lots of time passed since the last posting.
As a space man, I need to be able to scan the heavens, what better to use that old 10-cm lens from the back of the drawer, together with various wood samples to make a custom desk ornament. Sadly, the lack of an eyepiece and general lack of actual optical design in this segmented woodturning means that it barely works as a magnifier. It does work well as a paperweight, and at about 30 cm long, this telemagnifier looks cool on my desk. What more can you ask for.
