This is the lathe I made to turn very small items, some of which you will have seen on this blog. I can turn small parts, then cut them off, and move the guide block along to expose a fresh piece of wood. The guide block also supports the tools and helps with measurements. The lathe was recently covered in the Lee Valley newsletter and by the Chinook woodturners newsletter from Lethbridge, Alberta.
It is in regular use to make 1/144 scale items. If you’ve received a micro-spurtle in the mail, this is the lathe that turned it!
