Scaling the Brandenburg Gate

The two Berlin chairs, designed by Rietveld in 1923 and built in microminiature 1/144 scale in 2010, needed a better home to display them. As their name suggests, they were designed for an exhibit in Berlin. This stylized model of Berlin’s famous Brandenburg Gate in scale 1/1728 , or about 26 mm wide, is just right for the job. (For the non-mathematicians: the chairs are in scale 1/144, and 1/144 divided by 12 again makes it 1/1728)
